Juke Joint Festival

Its own organisers describe it as « half blues festival, half small-town fair », and that is exactly right. Twelve free daytime stages spread across downtown, then twenty-odd night venues on a single wristband. More than a hundred acts. Racing pigs. Monkeys riding dogs.

The 2026 edition falls on Saturday 11 April, with bonus events running 8 to 12 April. The 2027 edition is set for 14 to 18 April.

The festival is the week the whole town becomes a venue: front porches, hardware stores, church halls, the Hopson Commissary, the Shack Up Inn's silos. Book the wristband and a bed early — the beds go first.
