Wednesday is the jam at Ground Zero, hosted by Steve Kolbus. Bring an instrument and you play; bring an ear and it costs $10.
Thursday to Saturday the club runs a full band, $15 at the door, kitchen open until the last set.
Most nights Red's Lounge on Sunflower Avenue opens when Red's son feels like opening it. No website, no advance ticket, the hat goes round. That is not a shortcoming; it is the point.
Weekend mornings the Bluesberry Café serves the Blues Breakfast at ten with a band already playing. It is the only place in town where the music starts before noon.
